{"id":296,"date":"2018-08-28T15:54:34","date_gmt":"2018-08-28T13:54:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/frantzmartinache.eu\/?p=296"},"modified":"2018-08-28T16:08:07","modified_gmt":"2018-08-28T14:08:07","slug":"viking_paper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/frantzmartinache.eu\/index.php\/2018\/08\/28\/viking_paper\/","title":{"rendered":"Kernel-nulling paper accepted for publication by Astronomy &#038; Astrophysics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is my great pleasure to be able announce that the paper <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mso.anu.edu.au\/~mireland\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mike Ireland<\/a> (ANU) and I wrote, entitled &#8220;Kernel-nulling for a robust direct interferometric detection of extrasolar planets&#8221; has been accepted for publication by Astronomy &#038; Astrophysics. <\/p>\n<p>The paper introduces a baseline class of nulling-interferometers producing outputs that can be robustly calibrated. These new observable quantities exhibit properties that are similar to closure- and kernel-phase, while taking advantage of the use of a true nulling stage. The first version of our paper had been <a href=\"http:\/\/frantzmartinache.eu\/index.php\/2018\/02\/17\/kernel-nulling-for-a-robust-direct-interferometric-detection-of-extrasolar-planets\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">previously announced<\/a>.
