Kolmogorov phase screen simulation

This page features a 2D Kolmogorov atmosphere simulation as well as the associated PSF. With the sliders, the user can modify three parameters of this turbulence:

• the relative strength of the turbulence (proportional to the wavefront rms error)
• the speed of the wind
• the direction of the wind

The units for the parameters are arbitrary and are only relevant to this numerical simulation, optimized for speed of execution.
